Insights from the Discovery project, combined with the growth of electric mobility and the lack of transparency in the electric charging chain—characterised by unclear and fluctuating kWh costs and invoices that often arrive weeks later—gave Shuttel the opportunity to apply its expertise in processing large volumes of transactions and managing mobility to improve the electric charging experience.
Under the name Shuttel Solutions, an electric charging proposition was launched to support business customers with a simple (charge anywhere), transparent (quick insight into transactions and costs), and easy-to-understand (clarity on supplier-applied charging costs and surcharges) solution.

The EV charging landscape consists of three key players:
e-MSPs: Assist EV drivers in finding charging stations, facilitate a seamless charging experience (including roaming across different networks), provide billing and payment services, and offer customer support.
CPOs: Manage charging points and are responsible for their installation, maintenance, and operation.
Roaming Platforms: Connect e-MSPs and CPOs, enabling EV drivers to charge at multiple networks with a single account.
Shuttel quickly realised that, to successfully launch an end-to-end charging solution, it needed to take on the roles of both e-MSP and CPO, with connectivity to multiple roaming hubs.
To enable Shuttel to efficiently manage charging stations and tokens, as well as process and analyse large volumes of charging transactions and protocols within a distributed landscape, Full Orbit developed the EV Transaction Backbone. This backbone provides the following functionalities:
In addition to the EV Backbone, Full Orbit has developed a web application that allows Shuttel to easily create contracts for business customers, register clients, order charging keys, and manage prices. The application also features an automated billing module, enabling Shuttel to present cost summaries accurately and streamline administrative processes.
